How to deal with water ingress from a chain hoist
published:2023-10-25

Customers often inquire about what to do if the lever gourd is flooded and whether it can continue to be used. Generally speaking, if maintenance can be carried out in a timely manner and can continue to be used, how should maintenance be carried out.

The appearance of the hand chain hoist produced by legitimate manufacturers has undergone waterproof treatment to prevent rusting due to moisture, but internal parts can easily rust. If encountering water ingress from the lever gourd, the surface of the cover and visible parts should be wiped clean first; Then use a hair dryer to blow fiercely at the chain mouth. If the water ingress is severe, it is necessary to completely remove the cover of the chain hoist and dry it. After confirming that it is completely dry, apply lubricating grease on the internal parts before continuing to use.

If the operation is continued without drying after the water enters the chain hoist, it is easy to cause rust on the internal parts of the chain hoist, increase wear between parts, and reduce its service life. Although the surface of the hand chain hoist has a waterproof coating, it is still necessary to avoid water ingress as much as possible during the process, in order to maximize the service life of the hand chain hoist.
