The difference between explosion-proof chain hoist and stainless steel chain hoist
published:2025-05-06

There are many types of chain hoists on the market now, roughly divided into aluminum alloy chain hoists, stainless steel chain hoists, and explosion-proof chain hoists. Choose different materials of chain hoists for different work environments. Next, let me explain the difference between commonly used stainless steel chain hoists and explosion-proof chain hoists.

1. Material differences: Stainless steel chain hoists are divided into 201 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel. Both materials have added nickel, chromium, and manganese metal elements on the basis of iron, thereby improving their corrosion resistance; Explosion proof chain block is made of aluminum bronze and beryllium bronze as raw materials, and the shell of the chain block is made of H62 copper alloy material.

2. Different working environments: Stainless steel chain hoists have strong corrosion resistance, making them more suitable for working in relatively humid environments such as maritime transportation and fishing. Explosion proof chain hoists do not cause explosions when operated in ethylene gas with a concentration of 7.8%, while beryllium bronze explosion-proof chain hoists do not cause explosions when operated in hydrogen gas with a concentration of 21%. It is more suitable for flammable and explosive working environments, such as chemical plants, power plants, oil depots, and so on.

Different chain hoists have different working environments due to their varying materials. Before purchasing, it is important to choose a suitable chain hoist based on the operating environment.
